This privacy policy explains how ISCE uses any personal information we collect about you when you use this website.

What information do we collect about you?

From General Users: ISCE does not collect any personal data from users browsing its website. We do collect basic information about how visitors use our site including pages visited, website traffic patterns and server-usage statistics. These data are used to improve content, site performance, and service for our visitors. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

From ISCE Members, Conference Registrants, and Other Customers: To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on www.isce.org, members and other users are always asked to sign-in and provide some limited information. This information is submitted voluntarily. ISCE asks users to provide their name and email address. Similar information may be submitted to ISCE through membership applications, conference or event registration, publication orders, subscriptions, and contest registrations. Additionally, for some emails sent in HTML format by ISCE, we collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that email. In those cases, we monitor the user’s email address, whether the user clicks though to links provided in the message, the date and time of the user’s click through, the name of the link or source from which the message was sent, the tracking URL number and the destination page. This information is not sold or distributed in any way whatsoever. 

How will we use the information about you?

ISCE uses information voluntarily submitted by members and other customers in the following ways:

Disclosures to Third Parties: ISCE makes member contact information available through the ISCE member directory to members and conference attendees. On occasion, ISCE may also provide limited data to third parties that offer products and services as part of and separate from ISCE member benefits, such as to Elsevier, the publisher of the Journal of Electrocardiology, to fulfill ISCE member subscriptions, or to an ISCE conference hotel to reserve overnight rooms for conference attendees. These limited data include names, email addresses, home and/or business addresses, job titles, and lodging requirements. Users may request ISCE to refrain from disclosing the data it collects to third parties by contacting ISCE as advised below to express their preferences if they determine later that they do not wish to have the information shared.

Consent to Use Personal Information: For the purposes of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of May 2018, ISCE or its agents must store, host and otherwise process the information (including personal data) supplied by the user when registering for this website. ISCE may send such data outside the European Union for processing. If you reside in the European Union, please understand that the personal information you have provided may be transferred and stored in countries outside of the EU, including the United States.

Credit Card Account Information: ISCE does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, ISCE submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearing house.

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please contact us as advised below. We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
